Special Operations
ALL HAZARDS AND SPECIALIZED TEAMS
For specialized rescue incidents such as a hazardous material spills, rope rescue, confined space rescue, structural collapse, trench rescue, water rescue, and fire investigations the Medina County All Hazards Team is dispatched to assist SGFD. The Seville-Guilford Fire Department is not equipped to handle these types of emergencies, but we do have firefighters who serve on the team
Another team we are very thankful for is the Wayne County Dive Team. The dive team responds from the Wooster Township Fire Department in southwestern Wayne County. The team is usually dispatched to Medina County anytime a water rescue incident occurs. Both Medina County All Hazards water rescue team and Wayne County dive team collaborate and work very well together.

The Medina County All Hazards Team provides county wide hazmat and technical rescue response. The administration of the team falls under Medina County EMA with the team personnel coming from fire/EMS/law enforcement agencies across the county. The team consists of approximately 75 specially training and highly skilled individuals. Funding is provided by a per capita cost allocation to all Medina County communities.
SGFD is very thankful for the dedicated men and women who serve on these specialized teams and their leadership. Many volunteer their time for training, which is done mostly on nights and weekends.
